EMS, what we are

Despite Cebu city being the second biggest city and most popular resort place in Philippines, there is widespread unemployment that causes poverty and many children there are forced to spend much of their time begging for small change.

Eloy Memorial Scholarship, known as EMS is a registered Non Profit Organization funded by Japanese house wives whose objects are: " For the benefit of children: for relief of poverty, sickness and distress, the advancement of education and such other exclusively charitable purposes as EMS may decide ".

There are so many less fortunate children of Cebu city, our small capacity only allows to support a limited number of children around St Nino Church.

EMS is officially approved by Nagano Prefecture Government in Japan where our Chairman of the Board lives. We have "street volunteer workers" in Cebu whose job it is to be a friend to these children in their own environment. The end result is that these children are voluntarily helped into a normal and better way of life.
