昨今、私の暮らす長野県伊那市の夏は暑すぎ、冬は寒すぎることに不安を感じています。 これは、地球の気候変動の影響でしょうか。 また、ウクライナとロシアが戦況禍にあること、トルコでの大きな地震による災害で、多くの方々が辛い思いをしている事も心配です。せめてもと思い、僅少ながら寄付金と支援物資を送りました。
さて、コロナウィルス感染の始まりから丸3年が経ちました。 その間、2年と半年の間EMSの子供達も登校が叶わず自宅学習をしており、友達にも会えない日々でした。 友達に会えない毎日は辛かったことでしょう。
昨年の8月ぐらいから徐々に対面での授業を再開する学校が増え、漸く子供達も通常の学生生活を送っています。 その影響で、例年ですと4月の初めが卒業式シーズンになるところ、今年から7月の初めがシーズンになります。新学期は9月からになるでしょう。政府はこれを機会に欧米に倣うつもりのようです。
今回のニュースレターより、一奨学生の紹介をしてゆきたいと思います。 それぞれに個性的な生い立ちをもっていますので、最後まで目を通して頂ければ幸いです。 今回はライアンの紹介 をいたします。

greeting "I hope everyone is doing well." Thank you for always supporting EMS. Recently, I feel uneasy about the fact that Ina City, Nagano Prefecture, where I live, is too hot in summer and too cold in winter. "Is this the effect of global climate change?"
I am also concerned about Ukraine and Russia are in a state of war, and that many people are suffering from the disaster caused by the large earthquake in Turkey. At the very least, I sent a small amount of donations and relief supplies.
Well, it's been 3 years since the beginning of the corona virus infection. In the meantime, the EMS children were unable to go to school for two and a half years, so they were studying at home, and they could not meet their friends. "It must have been hard not being able to see your friends every day."
From around August last year, the number of schools gradually resuming face-to-face classes has increased, and children are finally living a normal student life. As a result, the season for graduation ceremonies usually begins in early April, but from this year onwards, the season will begin in early July. The new semester will start in September.
It seems that the government intends to take this opportunity to follow the example of Europe and the United States.
From this newsletter, I would like to introduce one scholarship student. Each of them has a unique background, so I would appreciate it if you could read it to the end.
